The Importance of LCD HDTVs Refresh Rate

Television sets have been rapidly improving in the last ten years or so. Prior to all of the new innovations, the only thing televisions could really improve on was their size. We went from black and white picture to colour picture and then after that technological change seemed to stop for about 40 years.

Television sets were becoming bigger and more cumbersome. The picture may have been getting bigger but the quality was still nothing like it is today. When high definition television was introduced it completely changed the landscape of TVs.

We now have to consider LCD HDTVs refresh rate and the contrast ratio before we buy a television. The refresh rate for instance is how fast the television can process images on the screen.

The more activity that is happening on the screen the harder it is for the television set to pick it all up and project it to you. What happens sometimes with televisions that have a low refresh rate are blurry video and jagged images when there is a lot of action on the screen.

The higher the refresh rate is on your television the better it will look when there is a lot happening on screen. There are many things to consider when buying a television and LCD refresh rate is only one.
